I've slung my phone around in my x-grip as hard as I can just sitting in my living room, intentionally trying to knock it out, etc., and I wasn't even able to get it to budge. There's plenty of anecdotal evidence that they're plenty secure on the motorcycle as well (I've only bothered to use mine on the bike once.)
