Pretty much, I went bouncing & sliding down the road after a couple of lemmings (pedestrians) had the bright idea of jumping a wall separating a 50mph road from the pedestrian area, Irish army camo gear took a fair bit of abuse & stayed intact, my boots had lumps taken out of them & I temporarily dislocated my shoulder (it popped itself back in but tore up every bit of muscle, tendon & ligament on it's way out) tore up muscles in my upper & middle back but got away with no road rash and minimal damage to the gear.
You can also get gear that will fit under the camo, I wear a Knox back protector under my leathers, but considered this for going to the barracks
