Aftermarket dogbones correct the shock link difference, thus keeping stock ride height.
It would likely be much too stiff for you at 150 especially for street use. I don't have a problem shipping the bike as long as you are paying the cost.

Safety wiring is similar to what is done to aircraft to prevent bolts from coming loose. It is required by most track day organizations for anything above novice group.
