Honestly, I see no reason to buy a 600cc/1000cc SS unless it's a track bike anyways. I think the 650r is logically a smart second bike for me for 2up or distance. I've talked about it here before and even after riding a few other bikes my opinion of the 650r grows fonder and fonder.

I've also heard that in terms of acceleration, the 650r can outdo a 600cc ss with a good launch. No idea how true it is, but I've seen videos/posts of sub4 second 0-60 on the 650r (not that it's important, just throwing it out there)
