Looking at upgrading to leather myself I am leaning towards the GP Plus and adding the chest protectors and upgrading back protector.
The GP Plus will be warm in the summer but hopefully not overly cold in the winter with minimal layers.

That was one of the jackets I was looking at, from the reviews I've read it's a great jacket for semi-warm to moderate climates. It's also very protective.
