I think I'll just continue to use this thread rather than make another... I am trying to get my Cobra F1R mufflers disassembled so I can repack them. They were old when I bought them, and they've had a long time to collect soot and get stuck.
I can't get the center tubes out. I know they're supposed to knock out, but they just chew up my wooden blocks and stay solid.
I'm wondering if torching them is a good idea. They're kinda thin aluminum, and I don't want to wreck them. Also wondering if simply submerging them in Chem Dip or something would do the job for me. Anyone have any experience with these?
