I did ride it at night that first day. That is when you notice it more, but still not very distracting. If you are keeping your head up and looking ahead, it is not any more noticable than the gauges themselves.

I also had the pleasure of riding in the rain last night, and with a little tuck was able to stay almost completely dry (at least while moving).

Yes I think it would. I kind of wish I would have just gotten the clear. I was thinking light smoke would be lighter than what it is.
