The best secure firearm storage on a bike is in a lockable hard case.

A guy tossed out a NIB lockable metal cover for a wildlife camera. I lined it with several layers of foam exercise mat that was also put in the trash. Cut out the outline of my S&W Sigma 40 cal. and a spare clip. Holds the gun well, and vibration is minimal.

Haven't decided whether to bolt it to the floorboard of my truck or run a cable around it and a seat bracket.
