Im with you Kevin.
Bicycles really shouldnt be on public roads. The gear they wear is completely inadaquate, the helmets are sub-standard, and the dangers they pose to themselves along with normal vehicle traffic is extremely high.
The interstates have laws set in place to prevent people that are not capable of keeping up with traffic off of them...and so should regular roads.
One nice thing they have done here is install bicycle only lanes for the bicyclists. It really is a much safer way to do things and works out better for everyone.
Im not against bicycles or the people that enjoy them. I used to ride all the time too, but I am against them being on public roads.
