my shock was adjusted all the way stiff when i bought it used. i forgot to check that, being used to the old ninja shock. and on the first ride i was thinking my linkage was bound up. felt like i was riding a hardtail... fiddled with the adjustments a couple times and it feels worlds better now. might want to check the adjustments before going through the trouble of finding another spring, might solve your problem.
