Manual cam chain tensioner.

So I'm pretty much done with trying to deal my current CCT and I'm pretty sure it's starting to go bad. couple metal knicks on the metal "piston" and my cam chain gets loose unless I take it out and "reset" it. I've looked around for a MCCT but I've only found those for the newgen bikes.

Any ideas on what I would need fashion one of my own or if it's even a good idea? I have access/ can get access to a machine shop to make an aluminum body, but other than that I don't know what type of bolt I'd need or how to properly use one.
