I hear what you're saying, and a car that does so badly in a low speed crash can't be described as well designed, but, if we all only drove cars that met with high safety standards, then frankly none of us would use the classics. (I'm not saying the Pinto is a classic mind
).
As a matter of interest, what do you have to set the standards in the US, we have NCAP, which is a big Euro wide safety organisation.
