I use a military medic pouch for my first aid kit. I don't feel like you can hold enough in an altoids tin to be that useful.

Off the top of my head, my first aid kit has: gloves, assorted gauze pads, assorted band aids, sports tape, dinner SAM splints, ibuprofen, antibiotic ointment, and pocket knife. Pretty sure there's a few more things I don't remember. I also have an emergency blanket and sightly larger SAM splints in my pouch of emergency bike repair stuff. I plan to add medical shears, a CAT tourniquet, and something like an asherman chest seal to the kit. Maybe more. I also have a pocket mask for cpr but it's too large for me to give it a permanent spot in my top case.
