Use the tool provided in the bike's toolkit. It's the only thing that works without removing the gas tank and the cylinder head cover.
Heck, even if you did remove the gas tank and the cylinder head cover, use the tool.
If you really need "ratcheting" abilities, just use a 14mm (I think) ratcheting combination wrench on the nut on the tool.
