I don't mean to come off like a know it all. When the other guy asked how hypermiling could be fun, I answered competitively with my tongue in cheek to show that the competition is the fun. Just like racing where you are always trying to improve compared to the other riders only you do this safely on the street even if your competitor is on another continent.
