Either way, it's a shame to cut up such a nice and rare bike, when the exact same starting point that you have now could have been had with a cheap and common 98-07 250. The smart thing to do would have been to flip that bike for about 4-5k and then buy a pregen to build into a bobber, and a newgen to enjoy stock. Good luck with your project though.
