Posts: A lot.
what made this fire "blow up" was the wind ! it was erratic and strong probably up to 20~30 mph !.... strong winds are normal here 50mph winds are not uncommon for days on end, fire, wind, and DRY fuel is all it takes to make a firestorm !
Danno.... I don't think so i think the biggest one was a 737 a twin engine jet with an engine in the vertical tail with a big belly tank painted orange
(I think that is a 737 not sure at all but all I know it was big at tree top level !)
I saw one I really liked, it reminded me of a modernized p-38 with a square tail.... never seen him before ... he had twin engines on pods that went back to the tail with a fuselage in the center and 2 people he escorted in the big guys quite a few times..... there was even a 4 engine prop passenger plane of some sort and a 4 engine passenger jet too.....
it was like the air show at Reno watching these guys !
.....
Yes when you remove the grass roots the top soil has nothing to hold it down and it will slide if you get alot of rain ! fortunately most of this was relitively flat land and rolling hills.

....
I burned my hand like a dummy a bit ago.... I was welding up 3, 16" extensions to a garden gate to make it wider so I can get the bikes in and out of the back yard easier when I tried to slide the gate sitting atop the vice
and it wouldn't slide so out of frustration I put my hand on the freshly welded piece to shove it..... bad move ! it's not real bad but still a bit painful
....
..... I still haven't learned if you get frustrated stop working or bad things happen ! ....i knew better than to touch that area ! but that is what frustration does to you it makes you NOT THINK for a split second and that is all it takes to make a big owie !!!! LOL
....ah well the gate is almost done anyway ...now I have to move the one post and put it back on..... that should be fairly easy but now it'll be a week or so till I get back to it ! LOL
....
a 36" wide gate is too small to get a bike through without hitting the mirrors and saddle bags.... so I made it a 48" gate !
.....
later all
Bob
