Gas Leak - Post fix

So when I swapped gas tanks due to my last one getting pin hole leaks, I didnt do a good job of installing the petcock and lines. It then sat with gas leaking onto the side of the motor. I've since resolved the gas leak issues by rebuilding the 14 year old petcock, new lines and clamps etc. No more gas leaks. Then I flushed the motor with cheap oil a few times with a new filter until there was no gas smell in the oil, and then put a new filter and oil in there. So far so good.

I noticed that the side cover is leaking now. That was a brand new gasket. Less than 100 miles on the bike. I'm gonna guess this gas leak ate away at the gasket? It is also worth noting my wife dumped the bike on this side within that 100 miles. Perhaps it jostled the bolts a thread or two back and its just in need of tightening? I have liquid gasket so I can just put that on there, but I dont want to have to drain the coolant again just to pull that cover off.
