Ever since I moved into my new place(2 months ago) i spin the bike a full 270 every day. I tried in the past just to see if I could and I was never able to get it to balance. Once I needed to though I figured out the handle bars need to be turned to the right and not the left and then it was easy.
I'm going to say it adds a lot of stress to the joint and may waller it out over time if you to abrupt with transition the weight on and off but if you smooth you shouldn't see any problems for a long time. Just regularly check that bolt like you should anyways and you be safe.
