[motorcycle.com] - Energica Expands To UK Market

Adapted from an Energica press release:

Energica has announced plans to enter the UK market, choosing Moto Corsa Limited as its official UK dealer.

The growth of Energica Motor Company follows a similar positive trend in the UK electric mobility market, up 27% in January 2016, says Energica. A recent study published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders shows that the EV market in the UK rose dramatically last year. SMMT’s analysis shows that around 2,400 electric cars were registered per month in 2015, a jump from only 500 for the year prior.

The UK’s long-term economic plan is to invest £600 million by 2020 on sustainability. Go Ultra Low Cities is a key part of this plan, which involves four cities (Bristol, London, Milton Keynes and Nottingham) which*received £40 million to promote plug-in vehicles.

The emerging field of sustainable mobility is getting more and more confirmation in the UK as demonstrated also by the growing of EV charging points; up from a few hundred in 2011 to more than 9,500 in December 2015.
