I was working the pits for my buddy Chris Fenter, in the first CCS race at Blackhawk this year after covid, and he now has a trailer full of ultralight weapons - a nicely built 300 for classes where the 400 isn't allowed, (my old one) and a 400. He took home 12 expert trophies that weekend, including 7 1sts.
his lap times were getting into the 20's. I could barely do that on a proper middleweight. Now, I was perusing the recent results and notice last weekend he only brought his 300 for some reason (I'll have to see what was up) and he didn't score any 1sts.
Basically, show up with a 400 if you want to be competitive in the classes where a 400 is allowed.
