More difficult in compatibility is spacing of mounting holes. If those don't match, you can't attach it under triple anyway.
Electronically, they function same. So even if plug doesn't fit, you can remove terminals from old connector and transfer to new ig-switch with terminals in correct locations to work.
So electronics is easy, more difficult is physical mounting.
