But in all reality...if I was to get a new bike right now...with only a year of driving experience and for what I use my bike for...

I would either get a 650r or the ER-6n. I know being a 21 year old who loves speed a 600 seems more typical. Yet most of my riding in southern florida is on boringgg roads. When I do get some twisties I think the 650r would still be plenty sporty and it still has a lot of guts and is more comfortable to ride.
