My buddy with an FRS recommends the BRZ instead. Maybe it's just this one, but the Toyota dealer doesn't seem to know much about it. He thinks he'd feel more comfortable going with the brand that made the drivetrain than the one that made the body.
A few months ago, I borrowed my cousin's Focus for a couple weeks, and I couldn't stand it. I'd much rather have my base model Cobalt.
Depending on your driving patterns and living situation, check out used Volts. They're getting quite cheap around here. They're not your typical zippy little car, but the low center of gravity and huge torque make for a decent driving experience. A green sticker and free/cheap refueling might be a nice side effect.
