No, not same. Here's correct diagram for 1988-2007:

1. Note that there's
4 switches that
must be set properly for START button to work.
- Ignition-switch =
ON sending power out
- Engine Start/Stop =
ON
- Neutral-switch =
ON or...
- Clutch-switch =
IN (squeeze lever)
2. There should be +12v power on red wire going into START button
3. There should be continuity/zero-resistance to chassis-ground on yellow/green wire at starter-relay coil
ONLY when ALL these switches and conditions are set properly will START button activate starter-relay which activates starter-solenoid which sends power to starter.
