The inspections here don't amount to much. Traditionally the vehicle passes, you pay the $13.60, and you're done. The brake check amounts to seeing if car stops, rather than continuing through the inspection bay and out through the rear wall of the shop. They'll actually blow the horn and check the headlights, turn signals, and tail lights. They'll probably even go as far as seeing if the wipers work.
When I take a motorcycle in, the guy usually just starts writing up the paperwork. Once he told me that he figured I wouldn't be riding it if it weren't safe.
That's the only inspection we have here, my county has too low a population to have emissions inspections, so I really have no complaint. And since vehicles 35 years old and older are exempt, two of mine don't get any inspections.
