Often people run through the poses and don't realize how much benefit you get from holding them so long. People say plank (i.e.- Push Up position..for non-yoga types) is easy. Well try to hold it for about 30-seconds (with proper form), then do some other poses and come back to it again. Trust me, it isn't all that easy.

Just doing sun salutations at a very low speed can burn you. Holding each pose for 3-5 breaths can really make you sweat. I run through it faster when I want to relax and just do some stretching, slower if I want to feel it.
