For the effort, you can get decent performance. The bellmouth shape is most critical area of the stacks.
Angle of the tube also contributes tremendously and you'll want a 7-15 degree taper. Between 0-7 degrees is a no-mans-land with no benefits. The heyday of velocity stacks were in the 60s with GP Ferraris. For same amount of time and effort that you're going to expend, might as well get most out of it.
I suggest an elliptical bellmouth with at least 180-degree rollback and 10-15 degree taper. And made from stainless steel for much better heat-insulation than aluminium. I try to keep as much heat out of the intake-air as possible. You'll want bellmouth about 2x diameter of inlet.
