Well lets just say that i bought this bike because my truck gets 11mpg...And now that i know my bike is getting 50mpg, and I'm driving 30 miles a day just to school and back, im saving alot of money.
So lets see...
30miles/11mpg=2.7gal of gas
Truck
30miles/50mpg=.6gal of gas
Bike
With gas around $3.60 a gal right now:
2.7gal. x $3.60 = $ 9.72
Truck
.6gal. x $3.60 = $ 2.16
Bike
So I am basically spending $2.16 a day to save $ 7.56 a day.
$7.56 x 5days a week = $37.80 savings a week
$37.80 x roughly 25 days a month = $945 a MONTH!!
$945 x 12 months = $11,340 a YEAR!!
And thats just going to school, thats not counting going to stores, freinds, etc...
Wow, i didnt know it was that much, but thats crazy!
Since ive been riding my bike since January I've put somewhere around 1500 miles on it.
Thats ALOT of saved money right there, i could almost buy 3 brand new ninjas with that kinda money in a year!! Well this makes me feel a little better about everything, but hope that answers your question jiggles
