Do you still have the airbox? As danno noted, not a lot of improvements to be had by ditching it. It makes the bike louder (and seem more powerful), but often softens the throttle response and low/mid-range torque.

A better filter in the box is just as good or better. The biggest advantage of not having an airbox is the ease of carb removal.

I was just in San Diego at MCRD last month for my son's Marine Corps graduation. Left WI just before a major late-spring snow hit this area and just got out of Denver in the nick of time. San Diego weather was perfect.

Not so here. Still in the 50s and rainy most of this week.
