1st Gear Bogging and Possible Wheel Bearing Issues

Hey folks. Haven’t posted in quite a while. After sitting for about a year I cleaned the carbs on my ‘08 250. It runs well now, except when starting in 1st gear the engine bogs pretty hard. If I let out the clutch super slow, it will get going. Is this possibly an issue with the mixture setting? I set it to what is listed in the FSM. I think it was 2-1/2 turns out for the left and 1-3/4 turns out for the right. I’ve never done it like that before, but it is the service manual. Any suggestions?

Also, while lubing the chain with the bike on a rear stand I noticed some play in the rear sprocket. If I grab it, it’ll rotate about 1/2 an inch either way without the wheel moving. If I grab the wheel at the top and bottom, there’s no play side to side. Is this possible wheel bearings needing replacement or maybe the axle isn’t torqued correctly? Thanks!
