While we may argue over the fine points of lane splitting, the Frence don't give a woot. Anything goes at any speed. We spent a lot of time riding around Paris, private cars, buses, taxis, and never saw one crash. A few close calls, but no wrecks. Try the stuff in New Jersey and you would get run over. People seemed to give the bikes a little leeway. Not much, just enough to keep from killing anyone.
