The little Ninja does fine on road trips. I've done a few shortish ones, and there are others here who have certainly done them.
Inspections? What inspections do we have here? My Ninja's not been inspected by anybody but us. I had an insurance agent once who wanted to look over a vehicle before covering it, make sure it doesn't have damage that I could later try to put in a claim, and we do have smog checks on the cars every two years, but that's about it.
