and I think you are correct, start a new thread. You should be getting 50-60 mpg and a top speed of 95-100 mph (probably higher on the speedometer due to error)

But you need fuel, air, compression, and sparc to make an engine run.

I'd check the air box and air filter for restrictions. Rodents love to nest in them over the winter. Carbs could be clogged up. Spark plugs could be old and worn out. Or you could have low compression.
