Like I said, you should ride that way regardless. There's a difference between riding like they can't see you, and actually helping them not see you. I was surprised by a turning motorcyclist not far from home awhile back. I saw him the entire time, but I didn't see his tiny aftermarket flush mount blinking feebly away.
I used to want flush mounts, that incident changed my mind in a heartbeat.
