Wanted to post up about something I'm seeing on this board from time to time. People tend to use these two buttons interchangeably:
and
when they really do have a different purpose. If you are responding to the person directly above you on the page, and there's no chance that anyone reading the page isn't going to know who you're responding to, there's no need to quote their entire post in your own post right below. Use the Post Reply button. Especially if there are pictures in his/her post. If you're only responding to a small portion of their post and you feel it would be easier for folks to know that, then certainly use the quote feature, but cut the rest of their post out of the quote tags so the small portion you're replying to is apparent.
If you're responding to multiple questions from multiple posts, absolutely leave some quotes in there so people can follow your train of thought, and even consider using the "multi-quote" feature, by pressing these buttons:
before you hit reply.
