Crashes happen and result in bruises, even if to just the ego. Sorry you were hurt physically too. Sounds like it was quite a challenging amount of traffic for someone who has just started riding. In education, we call it scaffolding...you want to learn to ride first in an empty parking lot, then on rural or uncrowded roads, and build up to high traffic situations. This will help you build up the knowledge and experience you need to know yourself as a rider, your bike, and then you can start factoring in busier roads.
If you decide to ride again (which I would highly suggest!), take the MSF class FIRST, then take baby steps to build yourself up to riding crowded areas like the Las Vegas strip.
