Well, I never did go back out there ! LOL
but early this morning I was back at it at 4:00 am ! and so far I have the new 30mm carb mounted on the new home made manifold (with the vacuum port i might add)
a gasket made from some cardboard and gooped up with copper coat on both sides and
it's mounted... the carb is on and the original air box is connected to it...albeit a bit wrinkled as I had to bend it up quite a ways to fit on the carb.
so.... all that is left to do is put the gas tank back on and battery in it and give it a try
.....
if my energy holds out I might get a chance to see if I can get it running again with the new carb.... if not it's tomorrow's job !
