i swapped to a single pod filter on my new gen 250, and never could get it to run "right". always had an odd surging or lag, put the oem air box in with a drop in K&N filter and never looked back. keep the stock box, and run a drop in filter upgrade, you'll be happy. and be riding instead of tinkering with your bike all the time trying to make it work.
