Thank goodness for the parts-pullers. I think most folk are blind to just how many trashed bikes are available to pull parts from. It may be tough finding a nice Ninja 250 now on Craigslist, but there are TONS of them rotting away in junkyards and parts should be plentiful. That's the most efficient form of recycling too: we need to use what we have.
Oh, and I believe my old Shadow 1100 was 573lbs by the spec sheet. Admittedly, it felt like 800lbs some days and only had the horsepower for maybe half that weight.
