It sounds to me like either bike would be good for you. I chose the 300 for it's aggressive looks, light weight, and sporty demeanor. Plus Kawi's reputation for making a fun small bike.
While you might be able to bridge the hp/weight ratio between the two bike you won't be able to make up for the Honda making twice the torque. As a commuter it would probably be the better bike, just too boring for me.
