First, are you sure leak comes from rubber grommet for stator wires? To confirm, clean off entire cover of all oil. So clean you can eat off it. Then start up engine and look for where fresh oil appears.

If it indeed is coming out of the rubber grommet, make sure it is installed properly. Did you take photos when disassembling so you can re-install with correct orientation? It's rectangular in shape, so it's possible to re-install with incorrect rotation.

When re-installing, install grommet first. Make sure its upper and inner lip clears and overlaps engine-case properly. It's labyrinth seal, so there should be 3x 90-degree bends to get out, which prevents oil escaping without any sealant or pressure needed. Also make sure its outer edge is perfectly flush and even with engine-case before continuing on. Then install gasket, then case cover. Even with brand-new rubber grommet, if you don't do order-of-operations and orientations correctly, it will still leak. Fix problem, not symptoms.
yup - silly me - the grommet was in the wrong direction...

thx!
