maybe a stupid question but, why is there any modifying required on this?

As long as you replace with H7 xenon-bulbs? Is it like this on cars with H7 aswell?

edit: read that is was a car-h7-set, and therefore needed some mods. Have all of you used this? Ive found this: "H7 MC Xenon HID Conversion KIT 4300k 35w 12v". its $90 a piece though, and only 1 bulb per set, but would that work without mods?
