Lol. It's hardly upright, it is a pure supersport, not a sport touring machine, just not as aggressive as the newer crop of bikes. The brakes are surprisingly good and SS lines + HH pads would fix any complaints anyways. Most people turn better lap times on F4i's than 600RRs as well. It just tends to have a reputation as a "sport touring" bike because it was replaced with something more aggressive and then given an ugly banana seat.
To each their own though.
