Basically dress with sliding in mind, any kind of armor is a plus but nobody can afford all that anyway. Heavy jeans hold up better than you'd be led to believe but they're not much more than that. Leather is your best bet. Do what you can, something is better than nothing. Just don't ride like an idiot.

Good places to be spendy are helmets and boots, ankles are expensive and painful and as you get into better helmets you get a lot of nicer features as well as increased safety. I like bell helmets but it really comes down to more of the shape of your head than anything.

I have an OSI padded/mesh jacket, some gloves with carbon fiber armor on em (no name), bell star helmet, and jeans and doc marten's cause I'm an asshole
