When making any type of structural repair on most plastics it's always a good idea to grind the backside clean and rough and use a piece of fiberglass cloth (about 2" wide or whatever will fit) saturated with the proper adhesive to strengthen and hold the seam in-place. After that has dried, "V" the outside and grind down an area 1" on both sides of the crack to give the adhesive a larger area to adhere to and give you a recessed area to fill. Some type of filler is easier to work with (sand) than adhesive for final shaping, but it can't be too thick or need to provide any strength.
