I've never tried a trike, but I'd think you'd want a much beefier rear brake than the stock one. More rotating mass and weight distribution to the rear would make the rear brake much more effective, but also require more force. Between the light weight, low power, and budget-friendliness, our rear brake is damn near useless. If anything, I think I'd go on eBay and snag a stock front setup from a literbike to graft onto your rear. You'd need an extended hydraulic line, but you'd be wanting steel braided anyway.
