price and budget have dictated my selections of riding gear:

Helmet: HJC AC11 "Zeek" (oldie but goodie)
Jackets: Both Xelement, one is a leather and cordura armored (shoulders and elbows) mix, abit on the lighter side, and a cordura armored (shoulders, elbows and back). this one's heavier than the other.
Boots: Both are again Xelement. One is a laced front, above the ankle type boot, the other is a more classic cruiser type riding boot.

i suffered a non-riding injury and was unable to ride for several months, and loaned that first jacket to a cousin who took a spill wearing it riding with her boyfriend. they're both alright....that jacket saved her elbow and shoulder from some months of skin re-generation!
