I had a glove problem myself last fall, when I crashed on the kart track and my right glove wore through and let the back of my index finger get ground down a little. What gear were you wearing that let your hand and leg get scraped up? I pretty much always wear a leather jacket and pants now, with the exception being an armored winter suit when it's cold.
I'm pretty much healed up now, although my knee's still a bit tender. The injury and hospital pics are from the day of the accident.

"Gear" included normal pants, Bilt Connie jacket and gloves (jacket was decent, but gloves were absolute crap to begin with), Bell Vortex helmet, and a pair of cold-weather boots that held up and protected my feet surprisingly well (and they're still usable).
