Some of us still subscribe to the 3K mile oil changes.
Most Blackstone Oil reports say 3-5K oil changes are good. Anything more and the oil is so thin it's pretty much useless. Motorcycle transmissions are hard on oil and shear it a lot. Sure, the factory says 7500 miles bit $10 worth of oil is pretty cheap insurance.
